Monsters of Engineering

What it is:

Monsters of Engineering is a video game that our team developed as a way to explore the role of interdisciplinary collaboration, mental health, and curiosity within engineering graduate programs. The video game translates each of these topics into a narrative and game mechanics that surface the issues in a playful, engaging way.

Why we did it:

While a video game might seem to be an unlikely way to explore the idea of transformation, mental health and stress, we wanted to create a space for reflection before students were under stress. This game is intended for use at the start of a graduate program or early in the term.
